Addis Ababa Health Atlas 2021, presents key results from EPHI and IHME collaborative subnational burden of disease analysis as part of Global Burden of Disease 2019 Study for Addis Ababa, a chartered city of Ethiopia. All-cause mortality in Addis Ababa reduced from about 2,050 per 100,000 persons in 1990 to about 943 per 100,000 persons in 2019. The number of DALYs has significantly reduced from about 2 million DALYs in 1990 to 1 million in 2019. Total fertility declined from 4 births per woman in 1990 to 1.5 births per woman in 2019, a 63% change. Of the twelve leading causes of YLLs and YLDs in Addis Ababa in 2019, HIV/AIDS resulting in other diseases, Ischemic heart disease and Drug-susceptible tuberculosis are the leading three causes. High systolic blood pressure is the source of the greatest number of attributable DALYs, followed by Child and maternal malnutrition. The life expectancy in Addis Ababa increased from 56 years in 1980 to 71 years in 2019. Addis Ababa city population will live, on average, 62 healthy years, with 9 years lived with disability.
